Support and guidance for mentors who are new to mentoring or need a refresher. We will explore how to strengthen the reflective, relational, and intentional practices that empower the PCTs they are mentoring in 2027.

• Current Teaching Council information.

• The roles and responsibilities of the mentor teacher and the PCT.

• Features of a high-quality induction and educative mentoring programme.

• The standards for the teaching profession.

• Guidance around goal setting, purposeful observations, reflections, growth-focused feedback, meaningful next steps, documentation and evidence.

• Effective use of support time/release time, meetings and learning conversations.
